Gotta Love being a Teacher

Okay so I know that I have not posted in so long, I have been major busy and seriously dont have a life!! But the other night we had parent teacher conference and I had two parents actually going at it.. I mean they were swearing at each other and I thought I might be on Jerry Springer, it was so.. funny.
So I am sitting there talking to parents and they just kept talking and talking and... Finally they left, I had this mom come and sit right down. Then another mom comes up with the sign in sheet and she says, "Excuse me, can you tell me who was next?" Well the mom sitting down freaks out because she was still three away. So she gets up walks over to the lady and just gives it to her... Yikes, I just did not know What to do, all I could do what sit there and apologize because I seriously DID NOT know what to do. Finally the mom left and it was sort of little settled down but, Promise PArent TeaCheR ConFereNceS can be SOOOOO SCARY!
Just thought I would give you a little piece of my life .... Fun right?

Looks like you need to regulate!! I'll tell you what to do. Have dad make you a wood paddle that looks like something you would spank someone with. (you can use it on Aaron later). On the paddle you should write Parent ass paddle and put it by your seat. So if this happens again you just stand up and start tapping your hand with the paddle, and give them your famous look. That should make them sit down and have a normal converasation with you.

I'm just here to help you. Nothing but love.

Actually McKensie I think you should have Ryan come to Parent Teacher Conferences and show them all whose boss. Way to go Ryan I love your idea. Your such a great brother to help get your little sister's situations at school under control. Good luck McKensie.

I second dad's thoughts!!! Great idea Ryan, you really know how to handle these scary parents. I just can't believe they could have these confrontations in front of their children's school teacher. You handled things really well. Way to go girl, just hang in there.
Love ya mom

I can't wait to hear their response when you had to tell them their child was less than perfect . . .

i yi yi! I am definitely the same way and do not have the people skills to deal with those who are yelling and freaking out. I promise that I used to cry in elementary school when the teacher was yelling. Even if they weren't yelling at me!!!!

So sorry to hear that the parents can be...challenging! Did it give you insight into their children??? It's so interesting how adults think they can behave badly, but expect their kids to behave well. Hang in there, pretty soon you'll be a pro at "referee"ing!!!

Wow! Will the real child please stand up?!!When I held my conferences I would post a schedule, lock my door and cut parents off when their time was finished you could probably even set a timer?? Parents seem to think that the 15 min. rule applies to everyone but them. It sounds like your doing a great job and I'm betting there are parents out there that are sooo appreciative that YOU are their child's teacher. In fact it sounds like they want to talk to you so bad that they are fighting over you!:) Keep Smiling....Yeah the paddle idea is good too!

Kensie, this is crazy. . .I don't know what I would have done! Parent Teacher conferences are bad enough as it is. . .you handled it very nicely though. Good work! Do you guys have them in the multi-purpose room? It sounds like it, and that makes it even worse because then EVERYONE in the school is looking. . .good luck girl!

Hey Girl! This is Liz! It's funny I found your blog, I was thinking about you earlier today, because my mom gave me this big box of my old things, and remember our twin red dresses we made in sewing? It was in there and I actually told the story of when you sewed your finger in the dress basically. I wanted to die... well any way, hope you're doing well!
